The rights of the slaves and the rights of the women has been a point of discussion after a series of documents form 1773-1789 came out that discussed rhetoric of liberty. These documents kind of created a background for the demands of the rights of the slaves and rights of the women as well. While the Declaration of Independence and the Declaration of Rights of Man written in 1789 led to the demand of the rights of slaves, the Declaration of Rights of Woman in France led to the demands of the rights of women. The slaves started demanding freedom by filing petitions and they did so respectfully ready to be under their masters with their freedom.
